Overview

The Geolux RSS-2-300WL is Geolux's flagship non-contact flow monitoring solution, combining surface velocity, water level, and discharge (flow rate) measurement within a single compact instrument. Designed for continuous monitoring of open channels, rivers and waterways, the sensor automatically calculates total discharge using measured surface velocity, water level data and a pre-configured channel cross-section profile.

Discharge calculations are performed directly within the instrument, eliminating the need for external processing equipment. Users can easily configure site-specific parameters, including channel geometry and correction factors, through the intuitive Geolux configuration software, ensuring accurate flow measurements across a wide range of applications.

Mounted safely above the water surface, the RSS-2-300WL uses advanced radar technology to deliver reliable, continuous measurements without any contact with the water. This non-contact design simplifies installation, reduces maintenance requirements and eliminates many of the issues associated with submerged sensors, such as fouling, debris accumulation and sensor damage.

Its compact form factor and low power consumption make the RSS-2-300WL an ideal choice for both permanent and remote monitoring installations. The sensor is widely used in flood early warning systems, irrigation networks, hydropower operations, river monitoring programmes and water resource management applications, where dependable real-time flow data is essential for informed decision-making.
