Biffa Groundwater Training Day
RS Hydro hosted another Groundwater Training Day for 18 Technicians and Managers from Biffa's National Waste Management Team at the Chateaux Impney in Droitwich. This course focused on the different sampling methodologies available for groundwater, the use of level monitoring equipment, decontamination and a look back at sampling equipment over the ages to see how technology has advanced.
Rob Stevens, RS Hydro's MD provided an outdoor practical session sampling directly from the River Salwarpe using a low flow sampling setup using a Solinst 410 Peristaltic pump and a Eureka Manta 2 Water Quality Sonde. The group then had the opportunity to use the equipment and learn the best practice for taking water quality readings in a variety of situations.
RS Hydro's, Meteorology Sales Manager, Tom Robertson, delivered a presentation on why meteorology is important to monitor from a landfill perspective, including compliance and the effects it may have on groundwater.
We received great feedback from all of the delegates and having worked closely with the company's training managers achieved all the objectives and delivered a course tailored to their specific needs with a high hands on, practical and theory content.
