Real-Time BOD for Bathing Water Quality Monitoring

RS Hydro are the first company in the UK to provide a real-time Biochemical Oxygen Demand Sensor that can be used for wastewater and surface water applications. This exciting breakthrough has been the result of 27 months of full-time R&D to provide a stable, accurate and near zero-maintenance sensor that can be used to provide real-time measurement of BOD.

The sensor can be deployed as a standalone device with an internal or external power supply that can include a micro-sized solar panel (A5 in size) or indeed with wireless telemetry options including GPRS or UHF radio.

A similar device, the ProteusP can be used to measure significant faecal coliform count levels in clean water distribution systems.
